Louis Vuitton showed their fall/winter 2014/2015 collection at Paris Fashion Week on March 5, 2014 and offered classic, vintage styles for the upcoming cool weather season. Shown with a mix of brown and neutral hues, the fall 2014 Louis Vuitton handbag collection was luxurious and classic with a twist.
Using classic handbag silhouettes, Louis Vuitton mixed things up for fall 2014 by showing quilting with contrasting stitches, make-up cases as shoulder bags, handbags peeking out from covers and ultra trendy color-blocking. The handbag silhouettes included doctor bags, small hard-box make-up cases, bowler bags, satchels and small duffle styles. These were traditional handbag silhouettes one would expect from Louis Vuitton, yet the fabrications took them in a fresh, unexpected direction for the fall/winter 2014/2015 season.
Louis Vuitton showed luxurious and soft leathers as well as exotic skins and the Paris design's house's iconic monogram vernis. In addition to leather and coated canvas fabrics, Louis Vuitton also showed hard-box, small make-up cases with shoulder straps; offering a traditional case new life as a handbag.
The color palette Louis Vuitton showed for fall 2014 was classic and neutral. There was a mix of brown hues, timeless black and splashes of pale blue. The overall color palette transcended seasons and showed a mix of modern trends such as color blocking, in a timeless fashion.
