Louis Tomlinson has made it clear to One Direction fans that he loves girlfriend Eleanor Calder very much, and revealed this week that he wants her family to know he’s in the relationship for the long run as well. Unreality TV reported this Wednesday, Jan. 30, that Louis opened up on why he enjoys dating Eleanor, and how it wasn’t easy at first to win her parents’ approval being a star member of the popular boy band.
Louis Tomlinson said that while he’s on great terms with girlfriend Eleanor Calder and her family now, the One Direction singer put in the work when the two first started dating to show he wasn’t “just some stereotypical boy band type.”
“I was worried about my reputation first. I sent Eleanor’s mum some text messages saying, ‘Please don’t judge me as a stereotypical boy band type who’s going to sleep with everything that moves.'”
“I was trying to convince her I was a good lad, but I didn’t really need to. [Eleanor’s] family is really cool, and very understanding of the situation.”
Louis Tomlinson added that his own mother has played a major role in helping him be a better boyfriend, and learn what it means to put that effort into dating and a serious relationship.
“It’s important for me to treat a girlfriend with respect. My mum would be horrified if I didn’t.”
It’s safe to say for fellow One Direction fans that Eleanor Calder’s mum and dad are quite happy and lucky to have their daughter dating Louis Tomlinson for a long time to come, as the 1D lads prepare to begin the next part of their worldwide tour.
