Louie Gohmert: America will be judged 'and it isn't going to ge pretty'

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) was a guest on Steve Malzberg's program on April 1, 2014, where he was asked his thoughts on the possibility that the United States could release Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard as part of an effort to reach a compromise in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian peace negotiations.

Gohmert said that he wasn't familiar with the terms of a possible Pollard release, but was comfortable claiming to know that the Obama administration has been "twisting arms" of the Israeli leadership behind the scenes.

According to Gohmert, this is putting the United States at risk of incurring the wrath of God:

Since I do believe the Bible, those nations that divide Israel are going to be judged and it isn't going to be pretty. I'd hate to be the country that betrays Israel, that demands that they give up land that had been given to them. I think that we're in real trouble with the pressure that this administration's doing.

Apparently, Gohmert decided his claim that the constitutional separation between church and state was meant to be a "one-way wall" where the "church plays a role in the state" did not make his affiliation with the American Taliban obvious enough.
