As the CEO and Founder of MLR Artist Management, Lou Rodriguez manages a multifaceted business whose services range from on-site hair and makeup, airbrushing, special effects makeup, to head-shots photography retouching, runway work, and even fashion show production, television, and film production, and commercial, and editorial for print, and video.
"MLR is an urban fashion powerhouse joining the worlds of fashion, makeup, production, photography, & film. We represent the next generation of creativity & style. As a fashion production company we serve as the crossroads for all things media, glamour, film, fashion, and promotional events." (mlrmgt.com)
Rodriguez started his career in the fashion industry at seventeen, starting out as an intern with Miami's NEXT Model Management, a global modeling agency dedicated to "connecting top talent in fashion and entertainment with leading international brand." While with NEXT, Rodriguez continued his education by earning a Bachelor's in Marketing & Communications at Johnson & Wales, concentrating in Fashion, and laying the foundation of a skill set that would necessitate constant vigilance of a rapidly changing industry.
Rodriquez possesses a passion for all things pop culture, holding a particular interest in fashion editorials and photography, all of which provided an impetus for his eventual production of several fashion shows, many of which occurred during New York Fashion Week, and others for ELLE Magazine, and Elizabeth & James for Mary Kate, and Ashley Olsen.
Aside from his commitment to MLR, Rodriguez is a respected photographer having taken images of notable figures, such as singer and former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland, and The Wanted, and his work has also been featured in national campaigns for AJ Wright and ECCO Shoes.
Lou is looking forward to the upcoming shows being produced during Boston Fashion Week later this month, with a keen eyes towards the hair and makeup being applied to each of the models.
