For six weeks, Denverites can celebrate their favorite emerging designers, discover new ones and get a weekly dose of fashion as Lotus Clubs presents In The Cut. Held every Tuesday at Suite 200, this competition features new designers every week who will compete for the chance to show in the finale on December 3.The winner of the final event will receive $1,000, and their winning model will receive $200.
The event kicked off on Tuesday, October 29 and featured designs by Robbi Sayuri Collections and Lisa Wear Clothing. With three looks each, modeled by Lauren Delucca, Shea Peterson and BreeAnna Hilsenrath (Lisa Wear Clothing) and Karly Porter, Antoinette Rose and Lauren Farmer (Robbi Sayuri Collections), these two designers went head to head in front of stylish guests.
Lisa Wear has been in the fashion industry for 40 years, and is an expert in tailored, body conscious clothing. Her collection for In The Cut featured items made with vintage fabrics and original designs from the 1970s, providing a contrast of old and new for a unique feel.
Sayuri is a recent graduate of the Art Institute of Denver whose debut collection was shown at Colorado Fashion Week earlier this month. Her aesthetic involves showcasing women’s femininity in a manner that combines sex appeal with classy glamour. She strives to make looks that enable women to feel confident and sexy without putting it all out there.
At the end of the night, Sayuri was deemed top designer, and Shea Peterson (a makeup artist tapped to fill in for a missing model) was named top model of the evening.
