So the long-awaited Emmy nominations are out, and as expected, LOST is heavily favored. The Television Academy's board amended the rules for Emmy submission, allowing LOST’s series finale to be in contention. After a vote to update rules on extended episodes (previously, a submission could not be more than twice the length of a series' normal running time -- or two hours for your typical prime-time drama), ABC became eligible to submit the 2.5-hour finale.

So what do you think of the nominations? Although we love her, does the talented Elizabeth Mitchell (Juliet) really deserve a prize for her brief appearance in the finale? And where’s the love for Nestor Carbonell (Richard) and his outstanding performance in ‘Ab Aeterno’? Where’s Jorge Garcia’s (Hurley) award for being the grounded comic relief during each of the past six seasons? And though she was under-utilized in Season 6, Yunjin Kim (Sun) certainly deserves something for her epic scenes after the freighter explosion, at husband Jin’s gravesite, and in her final moments aboard the sinking sub. Even the maligned Man-in-Black (actor Titus Welliver) should have been recognized for his guest appearance, in my opinion.
Will your Best Supporting Actor vote go to John Locke, or Ben Linus? Both gave outstanding performances, as always. And Michael Giacchino is beyond a doubt my favorite for his Original Dramatic Score – especially the finale! As I would, of course, like to see LOST win Outstanding Drama Series, I am on the fence about Cuse & Lindelof’s writing credit for ‘The End.’ I am thrilled for the character development and resolution we were granted when all was said and done, but part of me still feels cheated for all the questions that were never answered. I could go either way on this one.

Elizabeth Mitchell deseves an Emmy for every year on LOST. They made a huge mistake all the times they didn't give it to her. So YES, She deserves at least one for her guest appearence on THE END. She should have got the award last year anyway and not just as a guest, but unfortunately this year she was just a guest star in the last episode... and her scene with Josh Holloway (who deserved something exp for the first 3 episodes of this season) was the best one of the 2 hours season finale
Fox deserves at least one Emmy for Lost.
Emerson and O'Quinn are great, but they've already got one, so maybe it's right to give it to someone else, even if Terry had a lot to do this year.
I think Giacchino should win every year for everything he creates.
Even if this year was not the best season of LOST of course, THE END was great, and I would give them the Emmy for the best drama series to LOST because it's over and we all are gonna miss the best series of all the time so bad.
No, LOST deserves exactly what they gave the audience this last season: a promise of "all questions will be answered" (i.e. nominations) and a smarmy, non-descript ending (no award). Emerson: great actor. Quinn: Great job. Mitchell: Meh!
Carbonell: For his gut-wretching performance in Ab Aethero he got nothing. How can a brother get a break on that show?
Mathew Fox: Better the final season than he ever was. Still, I'm not sure it's award worthy jsut becasue people may love "Jack".
Score: Good, but was it THAT good? On the fence.
Cuse/Lindelof: Can kiss my Frozen Donkey Wheel...whatever THAT is!
Love reading your comments - thanks guys!
I miss Lost! I hope it sweeps, but I'm not so sure. One thing's for sure, Giacchino HAS to win for music!
