There seems to be a trend going on here … a recurring theme of cast members from one of the biggest pop-culture hits in the history of television suddenly getting recast all in the same place. Why is this significant? Because their new show, Flash Forward, is being heavily compared to their old stomping grounds of LOST.
Kim Dickens -- best known as LOST’s Cassidy (Sawyer’s baby mama) – showed up this week on the third installment of Flash Forward as Kate [or Katie, per IMDB].
She is the second LOST cast member to transition to the show that’s being called the “new LOST” (the first, of course, being Sonya Walger). LOST’s Dominic Monaghan will also become an integral part of Flash Forward by episode six.
Coincidentally, Dickens plays Kate opposite ex-husband Aaron, character names also very familiar to LOST fans.

Is it also a fluke that actress Gina Torres shows up in the same episode as Felicia Wedeck, wife of FBI agent Stan Wedeck? TV junkies will remember Torres as Anna Espinosa, Sydney Bristow’s nemesis in a handful of ALIAS episodes that ran from 2001 to 2006. (ALIAS was a hit show JJ Abrams did before taking time off to start a little side project called LOST.)
And still another Abrams alum, John Cho (who played the role of Hikaru Sulu in the 2009 film remake of Star Trek), currently appears on Flash Forward as Agent Demetri Noh, a man who may or may not live to see whether everyone’s “flash forwards” come true.

This show certainly knows which talent pool to pull from. But will all the comparisons to LOST and even an appearance of the Oceanic Airlines logo in their pilot episode prove to be more than just happenstance? Only time will tell…
