This is an unusual case, mainly because of how it is handled. Instead of their being a focus on one case, there are two. Dyson and Tamsin work on a homicide, putting Tamsin back on Bo’s scent. Kenzi brings Bo in on a case where a human explodes. The cases sort of take a backseat to personal matters. There’s not a lot of ass kicking or twists in the cases. They aren’t really all that exciting. The cases are just there to help progress Kenzi’s and Bo’s storyline. For Kenzi, it’s about figuring out what is wrong with her apparent personality change. For Bo, it’s about her hunger. What did you think of the cases?
Lauren is out of the bedroom! It’s a miracle. She helps not only Kenzi and Bo with her medical skills, but also Dyson and Tamsin. Now it makes perfect sense that Lauren would help out Bo and Kenzi. She has helped them out on cases before. What’s strange is Dyson and Tamsin bring a body to Lauren. Unless something happened during the commercials, Lauren is still not working for the light. She hasn’t pledged herself to the Ash, so why are fae cops bringing her a body? Maybe it is because of the Bo connection, but it’s still weird that Lauren doesn’t question it and there’s not a line or two explaining this. Did this bother anyone else?
From the very beginning of the episode, Kenzi just seems off. It’s clearly too out of character for it to be a coincidence, and so it’s obvious that something is not right. From then on, it’s mostly about waiting for someone to notice how different she is acting. It’s a little annoying that no one seems suspicious of Kenzi, but the writers make up for it in the end with how Bo figures out. She proves just how well she knows Kenzi. What’s a little unclear is what Kenzi, or rather Evil!Kenzi is up to. She wants one on one time with Bo, and it is not completely unrealistic that Kenzi would be feeling a little abandoned. Maybe this Evil!Kenzi acts out Kenzi’s deepest desires or something along those lines. What do you think?
