New Year’s has come and gone, and many of us are already behind or have broken resolutions to lose weight. There’s hope. Listening to music while you workout can help shed those unwanted pounds.
According to Richard Koestner, who published the psychology journal article: Reaching one's personal goals: A motivational perspective focused on autonomy.
“Most people fail in adhering to their stated New Year's resolutions. Specifically, 22% fail after one week, 40% after one month, 50% after three months, 60% after six months, and 81% after twenty-four months (Norcross & Vangarelli, 1988, as cited by Koestner 2008, p. 60).”
That’s not encouraging news. However, multiple studies conducted over the last few years prove that music helps one’s ability to lose weight through a variety of factors including tempo and motivational messages.
