Losing belly weight requires individuals to perform regular aerobic activity, engage in strength training exercises, perform stomach exercises and to eat well. As a result a person will lose stubborn belly fat, and have a lower risk for heart disease, stroke, diabetes, cholesterol and depression.


Physical Fitness to Lose Body Fat


Begin a physical fitness routine if you are currently sedentary. Do aerobic exercises a few times a week. Aim to strength train twice a week. Incorporate crunches, palates, or callenetics into your routine about three times a week to lose belly weight.


Eat Healthy to Lose Body Fat

Plan to eat right. Choose a menu that includes protein, calcium, carbohydrates and fruit and vegetables. You can get protein from beans, lentils,lean meat,dairy and protein bars and shakes. You will be less hungry when you consume more of these items. Calcium rich foods include yogurt, milk, and cheese. Choose low fat varieties and aim for three servings a day. Studies have shown increased weight loss benefits from eating these dairy. Complex carbohydrates should also be consumed because they give one energy and contain fiber, nutrients and vitamins. Foods like pasta, bread and cereals are good choices but one should watch their portions when consuming these. It is important to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables as well. These are good for you and fill you up. They are also low in calories.


Limit Foods That are High in Salt and Sugar To lose Belly Fat

Limit foods that are high in salt. Salt can contribute to tummy bloat which makes it hard to lose the stubborn belly fat. Drink plenty of water to flush out the salt consumed in one's diet.


Cutting down on foods that are high in sugar is believed that this will contribute to a flat tummy. Opt for low sugar versions of your favorite foods or eat sweet snacks that are portioned controlled.

Two Methodist Church's in Newark, NJ have partnered with Newark Beth Israel Medical Center to provide an opportunity for all local citizens the right toward a low cost nutritional program. Clear View Baptist Church and Philemon Baptist Church in Newark have joined The Beth Challenge which is a twelve week contest based on the popular TV show, "The Biggest Loser.” A free membership to Colosseum Gym is included with the program. Over 125 participants lost weight in the summer of 2009. The churches are anticipating more individuals signing up for the program. In addition, other churches in Newark are expressing interest in providing The Beth Challenge.
