Vidianto Wijaya, better known locally as Vidi, has won Grand Prix Denver on Sunday.
Los Angeles has long been a Legacy powerhouse. When SCG Opens come to town, a large chunk of the top finishers are locals. It should not come as a surprise that a Los Angeles native took first place at one of the few Legacy Grand Prix that are held each year.
As his shirt shows, Vidi is part of the MTG Deals team. Until recently, he was the only certified Judge working there. That meant that he could not play in their tournaments.
Vidi is a veteran of the Magic Pro Tour from way back in the days of Dan Gray. He has been an off and on player, limited in his performance mostly by his time investment rather than any lack of skill.
He played the following Esper Stoneblade deck. The deck makes very good use of Cabal Therapy, which is a surprisingly only a singleton in the sideboard. Coupled with Jace, Lingering Souls, Clique and Mystic/batterskull; Cabal Therapy can destroy opponents while staying aggressively on the attack.
