There aren’t many skateboard-related publications out there that can proclaim themselves as the 'sacred book'.

But "The Disposable Skateboard Bible" gets pretty darn close.

The author of this hardcover, 368-page book is Sean Cliver, former executive editor of the infamous (now defunct) Big Brother magazine.

Sean also wrote "Jackass", the official companion book for the movie of the same name.

The "Bible" is actually a follow up to his 2007 paperback "Disposable: A History of Skateboard Art", and continues to chronicle the history of graphics printed on skateboard decks, through an extensive visual gallery.

The "Bible" shows plenty of skateboard decks from all eras.

There is plenty of new material from Steve Caballero, Skip Engblom, Art and Steve Godoy, Mark Gonzales, Claus Grabke, David Hackett, Tony Hawk, Russ Howell, Tony Magnusson, Lance Mountain, Rodney Mullen, Stacy Peralta, Mark "Gator" Rogowski, Steve Steadham, CR Stecyk III, Mike Vallely and many others, as well as an in-depth look at the nostalgic madness that is skateboard collecting.

Although the 'Bible' was actually released last July, the Los Angeles branch of Huf, the skate, streetwear and footwear store owned by Keith Hufnagel, is hosting a book launch event this next Thursday, September 10, at 7PM.

The promo ad announces that Sean will be in, signing copies of the book and also drinking some free vodka (a disclaimer adds that the legibility of his autograph is not guaranteed).

Like other fellow Brazilian skaters living in SoCal these days, before coming to US, Luiz paid his dues in his home country. After publishing his own fanzine, he got hired by local Yeah! magazine as a photographer and writer. A year later, he got picked up by Skatin' and soon became its award...
