Los Angeles District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday that Dossey James, 28, has been charged with two counts of felony animal cruelty for allegedly dragging a defenseless puppy on a leash along a sidewalk reported

The horrific scene was caught on a video image and through witness interviews.

The young brown pit bull mix obviously didn't know how to walk on a leash, but instead of being patient and teaching a puppy one of the basic training skills needed to become a good canine citizen, James seemed not to care and dragged the poor, suffering pooch along the sidewalk leaving a trail of blood.

Reports from the District Attorney's Office stated the puppy was bleeding from his legs and stomach and required surgery to repair the damage.

The pooch is expected to make a full recovery and is currently in the care of the South Los Angeles Animal Shelter.

James is currently being held in lieu of $145,000 bond after authorities uncovered a similar incident of animal abuse against the suspect.

Authorities are seeing a better war waged against animal abusers now as citizens are able to capture scenes and videos of animal cruelty on their smart phones. Please be the voice for those who cannot speak.

A court appearance is scheduled for January 22.
