The Los Angeles Clippers revealed that they will be wearing a brand new alternate uniform this season during the team's Media Day on Monday. The powder blue short-sleeved jerseys by adidas are called "Back in Blue" which is a callback to their previous homes in Buffalo and San Diego when they wore similarly styled uniforms and colors. The team will be wearing them during Sunday home games throughout the season. Among the players wearing the new uniforms to Media Day include Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, DeAndre Jordan and Jamal Crawford.
This will mark the first time that the team will be wearing the adidas-designed short sleeve uniforms. The new style was debuted by the Golden State Warriors last season for a few games and has made their way to NBA Summer League games during the off-season.
According to adidas, the jerseys feature a variety of benefits including:
- The “Back in Blue” uniforms continue adidas and the NBA’s commitment to providing players with the most innovative technology so they are comfortable and confident to perform at the highest level
- The uniform is 23 percent lighter than the standard NBA uniform for optimum performance
- Uniform features max ventilation for comfort and 360-degree stretch fabric for free motion and range
The Clippers will debut the new jerseys against the Denver Nuggets in a preseason game on October 14 and will also be available at NBAstore.com on the same day.
