The Los Angeles Clippers have received some good news about newly injured player Jamal Crawford. On Feb. 27, ESPN reported that an MRI on Jamal Crawford's left calf revealed only a minor strain. Crawford was injured during a game against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night. According to NBA.com, the injury happened with a minute left in the second quarter.
He sat out the second half of the game. Right now, Clippers are listing Crawford as day-to-day, but there is a chance that he could return to the basketball court for the next Clippers game. The team will play the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night.
Soon after the release of the MRI news, Crawford went to his Twitter, and he sent out a one word tweet with 'thankful." Minutes after that tweet, he sent out a second tweet. It was a retweet of a news article reporting the MRI update.
Since Jan. 17, Crawford has averaged 23.4 per games, and that includes an average of 19 points or more in the last 18 games. He had scored 16 points before his injury on Wednesday. He closed out the recent three game road trip with 36 points in Oklahoma City and 24 points against New Orleans.
Crawford has come in to replace JJ Redick this season. He is out of action with a bulging disk. He has become an intricate part of this Los Angeles Clippers team. An injury would take him out of action. With the amount of points he is able to score, he could play a huge factor in the remaining games this season.
What do you think? Are you glad to hear that Crawford's injury is not as bad as first thought?
