Lori Foster’s novel, Getting Rowdy, is on bookshelves and available in eBook format today. This is the third novel of the Love Undercover series. Getting Rowdy is the story of Rowdy Yates and Avery Mullins and how they overcome their pasts in order to have a future with each other. Getting Rowdy is classic Lori Foster; she gives us the hot alpha male, the little lady who puts him in his place and let’s not forget the steamy sex scenes that are sure to send your temperature up a few degrees! She also provides a novel filled with action and intrigue.
In anticipation for the release, Miss Foster was kind enough to answer a few questions about Getting Rowdy and the Love Undercover series.
Q: Which of your characters would you most like to meet?
A: Absolutely Rowdy from "Getting Rowdy." Not just because it's the book being released, but because from the day he appeared in the first book, "Run The Risk," and we got to know more about him in "Bare It All," he's fascinated me. He's a complex character who doesn't appear complex until you get to know him. I never plan out characters ahead of time. I knew Pepper (from "Run The Risk") had a brother and that his name would be Rowdy. But I didn't "know" Rowdy until he showed up and started reacting to circumstances, bantering with other characters, giving away his personality and the depth of his caring. He's very honorable, very independent, and so emotionally strong despite being wounded by a very tragic past. He's not just my favorite character right now, but probably my favorite character from all time.
Q: Who or what inspired your Love Undercover series?
A: Inspiration can occasionally come from little things - seeing a character or a scene or a plot twist in a movie, from people watching, from something I've heard. But with Love Undercover, I just really wanted to write about a group of people who were all different from what they seem. People with secrets big or small, personas that are deceiving out of necessity. I like to think my characters are honorable people, so when they're keeping secrets it should be for a good reason. :-)
Q: Will Dash get his own story? If so, when can we expect it to be released?
A: Yes! I actually just finished Dash's story and got it turned in. The two elbow surgeries I had back in April/May (to repair a broken elbow caused by a fall) really put me behind. Especially with my shoulder still hurt and in need of a surgical repair. But I finally sent it off to my editor and I've got my fingers crossed that it turned out as I envisioned. The title is "Dash of Peril," and it should be released in April 2014. Dash was a little different than I thought he would be. Fun loving, for sure, but also a little more controlling - a little more dominant (hint, hint) in certain situations. ;-) He's with Lieutenant Margaret Peterson, and believe me, since she's a strong woman, things get interesting fast!
Now I'm at work on the first book of a new series. You meet secondary character Cannon in "Getting Rowdy." Fun, super-hunky guy! He just sort of showed up while I was writing Rowdy's book. When that particular scene started, I thought it'd be with "bad guys." And instead, suddenly Cannon was there. Trust me, he's a good guy! You see more of Cannon and Rowdy both in Dash's story. Cannon's book - as yet untitled - should be out in Sept 2014.
For everyone who might not know who Dash is, Dash is the brother of Logan Riske from Run the Risk. He is a frequent character throughout the Love Undercover Series. As Miss Foster stated, he’s very laid back than the other characters of the series but everybody knows that there is always two sides to every coin. So catch up with Dash and all the characters of the Love Undercover series in Getting Rowdy and be on the lookout for Dash of Peril in April 2014.
