On Jan. 26, 2014 singer-songwriter, Lorde performed her hit single, "Royals" live at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. The 2014 award show took place in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, and was broadcast live on CBS.

Lorde--the second performer of the night--sang on the smaller round stage in the middle of the audience; she was backed by a drummer and keyboard player. She wore black slacks, and a white button down sleeveless shirt, while her backing band members wore all white.

The song "Royals" was up for three Grammy Awards which included Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance. The song is the lead single from Lorde's debut studio album, Pure Heroine, which was released in the U.S. on Sept. 30, 2013. The album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, and was nominated for a 2014 Grammy Award in the category of Best Pop Vocal Album.
