Lorde dishes on her inspirations

Ella Yelich-O'Connor better known as “Lorde” is prepping to debut her first MAC Cosmetics collection and is telling the world about her influencers and inspirations. In an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, the 17 year old singer named Kanye West as one of her musical inspirations since childhood. She tell the outlet her thoughts on the rapper, “I think his vision, how closed-off he is in his vision - he has a very strong sense of himself." It seems Lorde is a fan girl of at least some people in popular music today.
Lorde picked up accolades at Sunday’s Billboard music awards, but seemed to be the most honored that her performance of her new single ‘Tennis Courts’ was introduced by Nicki Minaj. Lorde, who covered Billboard Magazine last September told the magazine, "I also got the Nicki Minaj album 'Roman Reloaded,' which I've been really into. She is so f---ing good, man, I can't even fathom it. I watched this amazing video the other day, of her just riffing about sex. She was putting on makeup and talking, and she's a total feminist, and I was like, 'Man, you are a badass, Nicki.' I love it."
Lorde is notorious for hating on just about anyone who is successful in American pop music, but it seems that the hip-hop community has turned her around. We wonder what Lorde thinks of ‘Pills N Potions.‘ How cool would a Lorde and Nicki Minaj collaboration be? Let us know in the comments section below!
