LORD OF THE DANCE returns to Denver for five February performances

The wildly popular dance show LORD OF THE DANCE is coming to Denver with a fresh, new cast and updates.

When Michael Flatley launched LORD OF THE DANCE 16 years ago, who would have guessed his show would become the highest grossing Irish dance performance in the world, with ticket sales of more than $800 million?

Generations of audiences—more than 60 million people in 68 countries—have seen the Irish folklore tale told in energetic precision dancing and dramatic music. The originator and star of the show, Flatley retired from dancing in 2011 and now serves as artistic director.

For those who have seen a performance, Flatley promises a new experience. “We have fresh wardrobes and an exciting new set featuring elements from the successful international tour I performed in last year—we sold out more than 20 dates in the UK. Fans will see technological highlights like video incorporated into an LED wall, as well as a number of changes to the overall lighting and set designs.”

Flatley and Dance Director Marie Duffy-Pask carefully choose the current cast of more than 40 dancers, each of whom has been recognized as a national or world champion. “These championship dancers have captivated a new generation of fans, and manage the impossible every night. Their collective spirit and energy takes the audience to a time and place that is as imaginative as it is inviting,” said Lee Marshall, CEO of MagicSpace Entertainment, the tour promotor.

LORD OF THE DANCE will be at the Buell Theatre in Denver for five performances February 17-19—Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 7:30 p.m and Saturday, Sunday at 2 p.m.

Single tickets start at $29. To order, call 303-893-4100 or visit www.denvercenter.org.
