Portland sludge metal contingent, Lord Dying will return to Boise March 7 in support of its debut album, "Summon the Faithless". The event will take place at The Shredder, and local heavyweights Karin Comes Killing, Krystos, and Final Underground will set the table. Tickets are only $6.
Lord Dying hail from Oregon, a place over abundant with purveyors of the heavy riff (Red Fang, Agalloch, Yob to name a few). A region where the inhabitants are plagued with nerve and joint damage due to lack of sunlight. In a time where everyone is trying to out-sludge or out-doom each other, Lord Dying gives something less than a f**k. They are a metal band with members of Black Elk , Portals, Le Force, Damn Your Eyes and Cremains, who in their short, three-year existence have shared the stage with some of the behemoths of metal weightiness from coast to coast.
The band features bassist Don Capuano, drummer Jon Reid, and guitarists Erik Olsen and Chris Evans. Olsen and Reid also provide vocals. The quartet's doomy, stoner sound has made them a favorite touring act not only in the Pacific Northwest, but across the country, and tours with Red Fang and Black Tusk haven't hurt.
Karin Comes Killing, Krystos and Final Underground are all capable of headlining any venue in Boise on their own merit, so this is a mammoth metal night not to be missed.
