Designer Francisco Costa presented his Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2014 fashion show during Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week at Spring Studios on September 12, 2013 in New York City.
There are some common threads in this mostly black and white collection such as a netted black and white fabric with a fraying edge features in many of Costa’s designs, including a summery frock, while huarache style criss-cross leather sandals accessorize several outfits.
Colorful loose threads also peek out from below woven jackets adding interest and a certain “edge” to tweed-like suits an some garments appear “unfinished” or in-side-out.
Several designs feature a blocking with a transparent gauze, along with opaque materials, preserving modesty, as has appeared during this fashion week for some other designers. Similarly, colorblocking with various prints appear on several other dresses.
To this black and white collection from Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein Collection Spring 2014 is the addition of peach and coral pieces, such as a very pretty ivory colored suit with coral touches and a gauzy sheath that is a coral and white weave that appears peach from a distance as well as mint and green.
