Released on Blu-ray Dec. 31, 2012

In the year 2044, hitmen or “Loopers” are paid to kill poor hapless souls who are sent back in time, dispose of the body, and wait for more prey.

Joe, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is a Looper and is tasked with killing his future self (Bruce Willis).

It should be noted time travel is not possible until 2074.

Future, older Joe escapes the younger Joe's grasp, making them both targets of the bossman, Abe (Jeff Daniels).

In addition, young Joe learns of a future psychopath, “The Rainmaker,” who he must try to eliminate, while chasing his older self and trying to avoid certain death at the hands of Abe’s men.

Gordon-Levitt is practically unrecognizable, as he is made to look like a younger Willis.

The film is full of action and Gordon-Levitt is masterful in his portrayal of Joe.

The Blu-ray includes audio commentary with Gordon-Levitt, co-star Emily Blunt, and writer/director Rian Johnson; over 36 minutes of deleted scenes; a short piece on the history of the film, along with one regarding time travel; an interview with composer Nathan Johnson; an animated trailer; and several preview trailers.
