Looks we loved from the Awards to the Ball (Photos)

After looking through photos of all the festive events that have occurred over the past week there are few looks that really stand out. Checking out Sundance Film Festival the beauty look that caught the eye came from On fire singer Alicia Keyes courtesy of Votre Vu . The scoop on her look came from Celebrity make up artist Nick Barouse.

“For the look of Alicia’s surprise appearance at the premiere of ‘The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete,’ we wanted to go for a very simple, fresh and modern look.

Nick's steps

"I first applied the Votre Vu Love Me Deux in St. Tropez. Then I lightly dusted the peachy pink blush from the Beaute en Bronze blush/bronzer duo. This gave her a very natural, glowing flush because the blush has gorgeous light shimmer in it"

"For her eyes, I lined her waterline with the Le Joli Crayon in Charbon as well as her inner rim and smudged it out a bit to give definition to her eyes while still keeping it soft and simple. Then I applied the Eiffel Power mascara to her upper and lower lashes.

Lastly, for her lips, I applied the Vu-On Rouge in Bouquet Rose with my fingers for a very sheer color and then applied a bit of balm over it to keep her lips hydrated and glossy for the evening.”

If you are a fan of Nashville then Connie Britton is no stranger. American Horror fans will rejoice also. Connie's gorgeous mane was cared for with Leonor Greyl products for awards night. Celebrity hair stylist Rod Ortega gave her an old Hollywood look inspired by Rita Hayworth.

Rod's steps

Rod Ortega, dampened Connie’s hair and prepped it with Leonor Greyl’s Serum de Soie Sublimateur on the ends, and then on the roots he applied Leonor Greyl’s Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice. He used both of these products together to guarantee healthy, high shine, and movable hair through the evening.

Rod then began blow drying the hair with a round boar brush, smoothing out the hair and finished drying it. Before using a heat styling tool, he recommends using Leonor Greyl’s Spray Structure Naturelle. “This setting spray is very important because it’s going to give the hold for the style.” Using a 1-inch curling iron and setting the hair with the setting spray, he let Connie’s hair cool and brushed the waves out with a large paddle brush into beautiful, shiny waves. He then secured the waves with Leonor Greyl’s Lacque Souple, a couple of pumps of the Leonor Greyl Spray Structure Naturelle… “and voila, you have a finished red carpet look!”

The first Lady Michelle Obama again beamed with radiance in a Jason Wu ball gown for the Inaugural Ball. The bright red color was powerful and fit the mood. Jason Wu was quoted on his color choice. He chose the colour, he said, "because red is such a confident colour. It's powerful, commanding.” Perfect for the occasion. Mrs Obama's hair is all the rage with new flipped layers and bangs. Hair is the ultimate accessory!

At the Sag awards the look of old Hollywood Glamour continued . Naya Rivera was one favorite in a stunning Donna Karen Atelier mermaid gown .Her make up was done by celebrity make up artist Jo Baker. The eyes were the focal point here done using Avon cosmetics.

Jo Baker used these techniques to create Naya's look.

She lined the inner rims and lash lines of Naya's eyes with Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner in Cosmic Brown, and smudged Avon Glimmersticks Diamonds Eyeliner into the outer edges to create a softly winged line.

Next,Baker completed the romantic and slightly metallic smoky eye by using a taupey shimmery brown shadow all over Naya’s eyelids, and by coating Naya’s lashes with Avon SuperExtend Mascara in Black.

Now all you have to do is try it at home on you next big night out.
