Last week I had the opportunity to travel as a blogger to Las Vegas for CES, (Consumer Electronics Show) and had to pack accordingly. The goal was to have enough clothes for the whole week, without spending too much money. Besides a new shirt and leggings I bought, didn't wear, and returned promptly after the trip, I did not buy any other clothes.
I knew there would be a lot of walking, standing, and basically long days. There were shuttles and cabs for transportation, to go from one place to another, and I wouldn't always have time to change back at the hotel.
Here's what I brought, and how it worked. Most everything was black, with a few other colors mixed in:
Solid color fitted tees. Both short and long sleeved. These were a great layering piece as the temperature went from cool to warm, and back to cool, all in the course of a day.
Leggings and colored jeans. They blended well and were very comfortable to wear.
Two sweaters, one jacket. I wore my long gray sweater when it was cool, my short black one, or the jacket when the weather was warmer.
One pair each; slingback heels, flats, sneakers, boots. The heels never got worn, the flats only on the first day. After that it was either my sneakers or boots. They were better suited as far as support for a lot of walking and standing.
Jewelry and accessories. The little bit of jewelry I had fit into my eyeglasses case for traveling. I carried one belt, one scarf, and plenty of socks and underwear.
I also brought a dress, nice shorts and a blazer but never wore them. In conclusion, I am mostly pleased with how everything worked out. If I had to change anything, I would leave my dressy outfit at home next time. That would give me more space for the extra (free) swag that found it's way itno my luggage for the trip home.
