The Denver Botanic Gardens is one of the nation's premier botanic gardens, and if you've never experienced The Blossom of Lights display, you've definitely missed one of the most romantic settings the Mile High city has to offer. Envision yourself walking hand in hand with your partner under a million vibrant glistening holiday lights as you navigate your way through the beautifully lighted garden. On your journey through this winter wonderland you'll find yourself surrounded by amazing ice sculptures and even some romantic smooching spots throughout the garden. The Blossom of Lights display is a Denver Holiday favorite and should definitely be added to your Holiday 'to do' list.
So you live outside the city limits and don't want to venture too far from the suburbs? The beautiful Trail of Lights at the Chatfield Arboretum might be more your style. The Denver Botanic Gardens at Chatfield is an amazing nature preserve along Deer Creek in Littleton. In the warmer months, nature trails, ponds and grasslands cover the preserve, but during the winter season the garden comes alive as its enormous cottonwood trees are covered in millions of twinkling lights.
Another perfect option for couples and for families is the Hudson Holiday light display at the Hudson Gardens and Events Center in Littleton. This whimsical and dazzling display of lights is a first for the Hudson Garden's Event Center, and it's enchanting and creative design you'll find unique and quite impressive. The brilliantly lit giant animals scattered through the garden will unquestionably become a family favorite, and the horse-drawn carriage rides most definitely adds a nice romantic touch.
For those who love a little adventure, a Denver all time favorite is the Denver Zoo Lights. For the young and the old, and for everyone in between, this display adds the charm of the season to the excitement of simply walking through the Denver Zoo at nighttime. You'll find yourself on an exciting light safari as you stroll through nearly 40 acres of festive lights complete with animated animal sculptures. In addition to the beautiful light display, many of the outdoor and indoor animal exhibits are open during the evening and if you're lucky you'll be able to catch one of several live animal displays.
