Well another year is coming to a close and once again we find ourselves evaluating the ups and downs of the previous year. There is no doubt that we have shown some growth and hopefully we have consistently made wise decisions with positive results. Or perhaps you found yourself on the other side of the coin and you have been struggling through a tough year with sickness or financial hurdles, but this too can also be a positive thing because these experiences often make you stronger, wiser and certainly more compassionate.
As human beings we all have one thing in common and that is a desire to succeed, this is actually a God given instinct. And please remember that this is not solely dependent upon our upbringing thank God because often the most successful, productive people have come from the poorest or most difficult of circumstances. These brave determined souls have taken it upon themselves to turn around their lives and use the past as a valuable lesson instead of a deterrent to their future success. God loves to see people rise out of their problems and become happy, productive people.
God loves all of humanity so much that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him shall have everlasting life (John 3:16). Every good gift comes down from the father above (James 1:17). You see God has always loved you! He didn't start loving you when you became saved he has always loved you with an everlasting love! He created you for happiness and joy! Now you may say to yourself my life has been difficult and filled with many hardships, well listen friend you need to start to understand that after the spiritual fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden sin entered the world. And as a result mankind and the whole earth became contaminated with sin, now existed fear, worry, hate etc. Through the disobedience of Adam and Eve mankind was now headed in a downward spiral but here's good news friends God is always supreme and sovereign! And even back in the Garden of Eden he spoke of the birth and victory of Jesus Christ! God said that the serpent would bruise his (Jesus’s) heel but that he (Jesus) would crush his (serpent’s) head (Genesis 3). These words my friends speak of the victory that Jesus accomplished through laying down his life on the cross for all of humanity and that includes you! His precious blood has bought your freedom and you are now actually royalty. That’s right royalty!
It’s great to make New Years resolutions and positive plans for you and your family. God loves to see that, he really does. He loves families and it brings him joy to see people enjoying their lives. He is not a cruel dictator; he is love and wants the best for you. He has many wonderful plans for your life! He is your very best friend! The Bible says “what man would lay down his life for his friends"? These kinds of friends are rare, and may not even exist in this life but Jesus did die for you! So yes you do have that kind of friend, we all do!
When you look back over the previous year please remember how much God loves you and how he has been speaking to your heart throughout the year. At first you may not think that he has been speaking to you but if you look a little closer you will start to see that he has shown you his goodness through people, events and life itself; after all life is a gift from God and not man.
May 2014 be the best year of your life, God bless you friends.
