Minnesota’s Mariucci Classic championship vaulted the Gophers to number one in the latest USCHO rankings, ahead of Boston College and Notre Dame, who complete your top three in the national poll. The Mariucci Classic title win over Boston College also notched the Gophers in a tie for sixth in the Pairwise rankings.
Your top four in the Pairwise: Boston College, Quinnipiac, New Hampshire and Dartmouth. Notre Dame, Boston University, Minnesota, and North Dakota complete what would be the second group of four.
Seeds nine through twelve consist of Miami-Ohio, Yale, Robert Morris, and Cornell while the final group would be Denver, Western Michigan, Union, and St. Cloud State.
SCSU is who we would call a bubble team right now, thanks to Niagara leading the Atlantic Hockey conference standings. The Huskies, without even stepping foot in Bracketology, would be bounced out of the national tournament in favor of a conference champion. (Remember, we have all five conference champions in the tournament along with eleven at large schools too. The Pairwise rankings mimic the NCAA selection process.)
