Happy New Year and welcome to 2013! Needless to say 2013 is already looking up to be an awesome year for video games. With Nintendo's Wii U already out, there is a lot of potential this year in its growth. Not only that, but Microsoft's XBOX 720 and Sony's PS4 are almost guaranteed to be shown off this year either at private events or at E3. Plus there are tons of games coming out that look stellar like the Tomb Raider and Devil May Cry reboots, Ni No Kuni, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance, Grand Theft Auto V, and a lot more!
So what does that mean for me? Well I of course promise to bring you the best of the year whether it is news, game reviews, or other features. I’ve been writing on Examiner for a little over a year now and I’m getting more comfortable in my writing. That in mind I plan on taking 2013 to the next level in terms of new content. I plan on launching new features alongside my already popular articles like Nerdiosity Adventures and Blinded alongside my Re-Action! video series.
Which brings me to my first launch idea: Qwiktro. While I enjoyed making video reviews last year, I think it’s time for a change. With the written portion of the review I wanted a video to accompany it, but a 4-6 minute video recapping my review seems monotonous and not as useful as per say a longer, narrated experience. With Qwiktro, I plan on doing just that (quick + intro = Qwiktro). I will start later this week with my Assassin's Creed 3 review.
This doesn't mean my old video review format is dead as I have plenty of footage leftover from last year that I still need to splice together. The massive glut of anniversaries and my other job had gotten me behind in some aspects, but it’s all a work in progress. To be sure, 2013 will be a big year for change and I hope you accompany me along for the ride.
