Look, learn, and listen: Re-explore the Exploratorium

The Exploratorium, located at the Palace of Fine Arts, is world renowned for its unique approach in educating individuals about science, art and the world around them through extensive interactive exhibits, demonstrations and displays.

In this virtual playground for the mind and senses any San Franciscan who is inquisitive about how things work or wants to experience learning in fresh new ways should consider a day trip to this wonderful science/art museum.

The charm of this place is in its immersive environment; virtually every nook and cranny is packed with information, mechanical wonders, hands-on experiments, and gadgets that show how hurricanes form to the physics of sound, light and everything else in between.

Dr. Francis Crick, Nobel Laureate and co-discoverer of the DNA double-helix structure said:

“We cannot go on in a society like this, having so many people essentially ignorant of science...They have to be told about science in the right way, and that’s where the Exploratorium comes in.”

There are ongoing field trips scheduled by local school districts to the Exploratorium and the facilities can sometimes be crowded with children. Be sure to plan ahead to find out which days are the best for a visit.
