Look here: John Lennon plays radio DJ in rare '75 photos to be auctioned Nov. 3

John Lennon appeared in the pictures shown here on WFIL in Philadelphia in 1975 to raise money for charity. These photos will be auctioned as part of 193 Beatles 5 X John Lennon by Cameo Auctioneers on Nov. 3 and included in a huge auction of rock photo negatives. You can see a selection of them in the slideshow at the left.

The auction house says the charity drive conducted by Lennon at WFIL helped keep him from being kicked out of the United States and led to him receiving his green card. We've also included a related video from his appearance at the station. It's at the left.

Additionally, lot 203 in the same auction features a group of rare photos taken of Lennon at the recording studio the night of his death.
