Longmont school to again host citizens for naturalization ceremony

In 2009 at a ceremony hosted by Twin Peaks Charter Academy in Longmont, immigrants from 35 nations heard the words "Congratulations, you are now United States citizens."

Tomorrow, November 15th, 2011 at 11:30am, Twin Peaks Charter Academy in Longmont will again host the event for more than 20 people from all over the globe as they become United States citizens and begin a new chapter in their lives. The Naturalization Oath Ceremony will occur in the presence of students, staff, family, and the general public.

According to TPCA Board President, Robert DuBois said, “Offering our staff and facility for this event is great way to contribute to the community in Longmont and the United States as we welcome new Citizens. We wish the new US citizens the best and know that the United States will benefit from their inclusion”.

Principal BJ Buchmann added, “Our 8th graders are studying what it means to be a citizen and they will have the opportunity to witness what is a moving moment as these citizens are sworn in. We hope to make this occasion an annual event.”

The Longmont community is invited to join them for this momentous event. The ceremony will take place in the Commons Area, on the west campus.
