This Saturday night at the Longmont Athletic Club in Longmont, Colorado, 10 Mountain View Ave., WARRIORS CONQUEST II, hosted by 'Ghost Town Promotions', features in the Main Event Longmont’s own Raul ‘El Chino’ Carrillo (10-1, 6 KO’s) taking on Cesar ‘The Rattlesnake’ Holguin (9-3-1, 3 KO’s) from Grand Junction, Colorado, in a highly anticipated light welterweight clash.
The undercard boasts a just as anticipated light welterweight bout where Denver fan favorite, and new father, Juan ‘Chago’ Santiago (13-9-1, 8 KO’s) battles Fort Collins native John Ryan Grimaldo (8-2, 5 KO’s).
Both men boast impressive resume's that could have this bout easily labeled a Main Event, Santiago having been in with familiar names such as Archie Ray Marquez, Marvin Quintero, Vernon Paris and Diego Magdaleno while Grimaldo has tangled with most notably Alan Sanchez and Mikael Zewski.
For Juan Santiago this bout represents his new motivation with less than one month old baby daughter Janessa Linda Santiago having him work harder than ever before.
“Being a father is an amazing feeling that no words can explain how I really feel”, began Santiago. “I am healthy and focused, feeling great with some great sparring during this camp having things fall into place at just the right time. ‘Team Chago’ and ‘Chago Promotions’ is headed by me and my cousin Matt, us looking for quality fights. I’d like to thank Robert Garcia and Anthony Barela for helping in my corner and becoming my coaches along with Alex ‘Micfly’ Johnson for getting me fit with his help in my strength and conditioning”.
Promoter Raul Utajara, owner of the 'Longmont Boxing Club', continues to bring quality, competitive fight action to Longmont, these two bouts along with the remainder of the fight card providing those fans of boxing in attendance with exciting professional action from the opening bell.
