Urban Investment Partners (UIP) has welcomed back long-time residents of Park Road Courts at 1346 Park Road, NW, in the Washington, DC neighborhood of Columbia Heights.
Theresa Bennett and Maria Fuentes were among the residents temporarily moved into other apartments for the duration of the building's recently completed full gut rehabilitation. UIP covered all their moving costs and provided custom finishes at no extra cost to these residents, who will enjoy their renovated apartments at the same rent as they paid before moving out for the restoration.
“Ms. Bennett and Ms. Fuentes are longtime residents and members of this community,” said Steve Schwat, Principal, UIP. “We wanted to do everything we could to make this process easy and enjoyable for them. This is the best part of what we do -- seeing residents move in and make our apartments their homes.”
Park Road Courts is a three-story brick building designed by the architectural firm Hunter & Bell in 1916 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. Vacant and dilapidated when UIP acquired the building in 2011, the building now has upscale finishes and 21st century conveniences. It is conveniently located directly across from the new Giant supermarket complex that includes the restored Tivoli Theater,
