In two weeks it's going to be Valentine's Day. Many couples get married or engaged on this day every year. Many people give special gifts, chocolate, etc. to those they love. Some people have parties or pass out Valentine's Day cards. It is seen as a special day to remember and celebrate those you love.

Like all things, Valentine's day will come and then it will go. So what happens when Valentine's Day is over? Many things, events, gifts, etc. are planned in advance and then are over before you know it. Even an elaborate, expensive wedding is over in a few hours. So, how do you keep love alive in between these special times?

In a marriage relationship it is important to do little things to keep the love alive continually, not just at certain times or on specific events. Write a list of things that make you feel loved and special and have your spouse do the same, then exchange list. Try to do the things that make you feel close as often as possible.

It is very important in a marriage relationship that each spouse loves the other spouse the way they need to be loved. Many people try to love others the way they themselves want to be loved. This most likely won't work because what makes you feel loved isn't necessarily what makes your spouse feel loved.

These things do not have to be expensive or time consuming. It could include things like sending a text message, email, or just calling to tell them you love them and were thinking about them. So, just remember to make your love and your relationship a priority every day of the year, not just at certain times or events

Also, realize that every marriage goes through ups and downs. If your feeling distant, try to talk to your spouse and figure out why in a non blaming way. And most of all if you start doing those things that made you feel close in the beginning, there's a good chance that those loving romantic feelings will return again. So, just remember to make your love and your relationship a priority every day of the year, not just at certain times or events. This is the way to create a long lasting loving relationship.
