A Hempstead man was arrested Saturday on a felony murder charge after police said he – and an accomplice who has not yet been caught – stabbed a Long Beach man to death in front of a Uniondale store, according to a March 8 police news release.

Raymond Wade, 23, was held without bail Sunday after being arraigned a second-degree murder charge at First District Court in Hempstead.

Police allege Wade was with an accomplice last month when they approached 23-year-old Ramone Green in front of Hansen Cleaners on Jerusalem Avenue in Uniondale around 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 7.

Green, who was from Long Beach, was “stabbed about his body,” police said in February. He was rushed to a local hospital, but succumbed to his injuries about less than an hour after being attacked.

Police did not provide any information about a possible motive in the incident, but said they are still searching for the second suspect.

Anyone that may have information about the stabbing or the whereabouts of the second suspect is urged to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
