An alleged gang member from Long Island who had been among the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives has surrendered in Nicaragua.

The man who had fled justice is an alleged member of the infamous, and violent, MS-13 gang. He was wanted for the 2010 murder of his former girlfriend and her young son.

The young man is just 21 years old.

The murder of the young mother and her son, who were found dead in Central Islip, has made local headlines, due to the disturbing fact that her young son was killed at the hands of the gang members. The arrest of the young man, who had fled the area following the murders, has made national headlines since his arrest.

While the elements of this case are disturbing, now that the fugitive is in custody, hopefully there will at last be justice for the young mother and her son.
