Lonely Planet has named Vancouver number seven on its list of the top 10 cities to visit in 2014. Why? They say the city “delivers on nature’s eye candy,” mentioning the area’s beaches, parks, and mountains. As locals know, it’s one of very few places in the world where you can golf and ski in the same day (and maybe do both in a t-shirt).
With so much to do, Lonely Planet suggests “Boredom is not permitted here.” What they don’t mention, though, is that chilling out is both permitted and encouraged – whether it’s lounging the day away at the beach or finding your centre at one of the many yoga studios. (There’s a reason why Vancouverites are known for their yoga-centric wardrobe, after all.)
Paris took the number one spot on the list, with Trinidad, Cape Horn, Rīga, and Zürich rounding out the top five.
