The Loma Linda Harley Owners Group (Loma Linda HOG) held their 18th Annual Veterans Run at Quaid Harley-Davidson in Loma Linda the run is to benefit Loma Linda Veterans Hospital. One Hundred and Twenty four people signed up to take part.
After registering and receiving a goody bag with a wallet, pen, document holder and two ticket one for lunch and one raffle ticket.
This year each rider got sealed envelope so you didn’t what card you drew at each of the stops, there were numbers on the envelope and you pulled a poker chip out of the bag the chip had a number on it and then that number got punched.
The first and last chips were drawn at the dealership, the second one was drawn at Buckles and Belts in Calimesa after a ride through San Timeteo and Live Oak Canyon roads. There Ed Sergeant and John Madrid were handling the stop.
The third stop was up Oak Glen Road to Los Rios Rancho where Dan and Jerry were guiding the riders into the parking as the place was busy with another event and it being Apple Season up in Oak Glen one had to watch for tourists.
Heading down the hill the next stop is the popular Wright Bros Motorcycle shop, here on the front porch in the shade John and Jayne Miller were taking care of the poker run riders.
Back at the Dealers Vendors were set up to sell knives, Jerky, Jewelry, tables, custom painting and if you needed a kit to install taller bars on your motorcycle that was covered too, inside you could a piercing and/or a tattoo if you wanted.
Raffle prizes were plentiful and you just place your ticket or tickets into a bin by the package you hoped to win.
Quaid Harley-Davidson also a make an offer tent and there were several item being up including oil, t bags and various parts.
DJ Mobile Service handled the hosting and music duties.
The games consisted of a Burn Out Contest and Slow Race.
The High Hand prize was four hundred Dollars and was won by Ralph Correnti.
