LOLcats art gallery are comprised of images that combine a photograph, usually a cat, and is usually accompanied by a humorous caption-- a dialect that is called kitty pidgin. On Feb. 18, Softpedia reported that the Framers Gallery in central London has held an exhibit honoring the LOLcats art gallery.
The lolcats art galleries have recently spread across photo sharing imageboards and other internet forums. The term lolcat has been receiving an increasing amount of media attention in the United States after it was reported by Time Magazine.
The LOLcats art gallery images are generally composed of a photo of a cat or a video with a large caption and the image is sometimes digitally edited to create an effect. The legend is written with syntax and spelling errors, but they tend to converge to a new set of rules of spelling and grammar.
Many people think that LOLcats first appeared on the lolcats anonymous imageboard 4chan around 2005. However, the first lolcats are much older: the photographer Harry Pointery produced similar images back in the 1870s, according to Wikipedia.
