Meet Lola! Lola is a beautiful four year old American Bull Dog here in the upstate of South Carolina who is looking for a new home.
ZenRescue met Lola for the first time this week in the aftermath of torrential rains. Lola's outdoor kennel was full of muddy water and she kept trying to get Zen's attention. The rain continued to fall while Zen was there. Although Lola did have a dog house for shelter, her water bowls were filthy and the water in them was just as filthy. Lola was covered in fleas, mud, and feces, and was soaked from the rain.
Despite her environment, Lola is very sweet and appears to get along with everyone. She has never shown any signs of aggression towards dogs and should be good in a multi-dog home.
Lola will be treated for the fleas that infest her, and will be dewormed and vaccinated. She will be spayed and will also be tested for heartworms.
She has been living outdoors and will need to learn house manners; she is not housebroken.
This beautiful dog is so eager to please, and will make someone a wonderful pet.
Rescued dogs somehow just "know" that they have been saved. Like most rescued dogs, Lola will be ever so grateful for love and attention and just to be out of these kennels. According to Zen, Lola very rarely if ever is taken out of her kennel. She is committed to finding Lola a good home where she can be an indoor dog.
Animal Control has already visited, and although the living conditions are not bad enough for them to seize the dogs, Lola's owner has agreed to work with Zen and allow her to find homes for Lola and the other dogs.
If you are interested in adopting or fostering Lola, please contact Zen at ZenRescue. A YouCaring page has been set up for the Cowpens dogs as well.
