Yesterday saw "Marvel Heroes," the free-to-play superhero MMORPG from Marvel Comics and Gazillion Entertainment, receive Game Update 2.0, featuring all sorts of Thor-related goodness. It is no coincidence that "Thor: The Dark World" opened in theaters in the United States yesterday, and Marvel Heroes is seeking to capitalize on the movie's release.
Loki, Thor's stepbrother and Asgardian god of mischief, is now a playable character in "Marvel Heroes." The Loki Hero Pack costs $19.99 and includes two different costumes for Loki, a retcon device, three fortune cards, and some extra gear specific to him. Players can put his clever use of sorcery to work defeating enemies in the game.
In addition to being able to play as Loki, players will find new content to do and new challenges to face in Norway. There, they will be tasked with defeating Frost Giants, Dark Elves, and more. From there, players will be able to journey to Asgard, home of Thor and the other Asgardian gods. New areas of Asgard will become available over the next few months.
Game Update 2.0 includes several other changes, both to player characters, enemies, and the user interface. The full patch notes for Game Update 2.0 can be read here.
