Lindsay Lohan was in court today. According to TMZ the actor was apparently not "too sick" after all, and it appears the judge agreed as she told Lohan, "I'm glad to see you're feeling better," after Lohan's lawyer submitted a letter claiming she was too sick to fly from New York to California since she was suffering from an upper respiratory infection. Interestingly enough, the "infection" did not prevent Lohan from going on a shopping spree last Saturday -- the same day the note was submitted.
Photos reveal Lohan looked tired in court today. Her trial was postponed, and many people are just waiting for the 26-year-old troubled star to get another slap on the wrist, but the judge made it clear that even though Lindsay could be found not guilty in the lying case, her probation in the jewelry case could still be violated since the standard of proof is lower.
A previous judge had already told Lohan she could face 245 days in jail if she did not behave. Clearly Lohan thinks court, and obeying the law in the first place, is a joke.
Her new lawyer also tried to turn on the charm when he opened his statements in court by telling the judge they have a connection since she was once a detective in New York. Judge Sautner was unimpressed, and promptly told Lohan's new lawyer, Mark Heller, that "flattery would get him nowhere fast."
Lohan's day in court resulted in her trial date being set for March 1, and since Sautner is retiring soon, a new judge will be taking the case on.
