Those interested in developing a logo for the summit should be between the ages of 15 and 25. The winner will receive two VIP tickets to the conference and have the artwork featured on all promotional materials. (Check out the official rules.) The deadline for logo submission is Dec. 27, 2013.
The GCS will raise awareness, community involvement, encourage education and increase hope with activities that are targeted to youth between the ages of 15 and 25, as well as TED style talks and a concert by keynote speaker Emmanuel Jal.
Jal is a former child soldier from Sudan who tells his story through hip hop and rap. He is the subject of the film War Child.
The GCS will raise funds for the ESLC and Jal’s projects that look to build schools in Sudan. Funds will also be used to support a non-traditional scholarship fund that students can use for whatever they need to continue going to school.
Tickets for the event will be available near the end of February.
