Filming for the long-awaited sequel to Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief has now completed, and lead actor Logan Lerman took to his rather silent Twitter page recently to share a glimpse of the last day on set.
Lerman released the attached shot of himself in the green screen studio holding up a rod and a color palette while hoisted up on a lifting mechanism and wrote simply, "Last day of shooting on Percy Jackson 2."
Following up on the 2010 franchise starter, Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters takes Lerman's demigod Percy Jackson and company into the watery Sea of Monsters on a quest to restore Camp Half-Blood to its former glory.
Co-star Alexandra Daddario recently chatted with Collider about the sequel's use of so much green screen technology, saying "it’s a lot of using your imagination and focusing, not letting the things around you distract you. If you focus too much on the fact that you’re looking at a blinking red dot and that there are people all around, you’re going to laugh because it’s totally ridiculous. But I think that’s one thing as an actor you have to figure out a way to make that real to you in whatever way you need to, by using your imagination and focus and that kind of thing."
Daddario also mentioned that the second installment to the hopeful series of Rick Riordan adaptations is "a great deal" different than its predecessor.
"There were a lot of changes," she explained. "I think that they wanted to make it as good as they possibly could and maybe they would decide to change out one monster for a different one, and I know they wanted to make it more true to the book so sometimes they were trying to figure out how to do that."
Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters also stars Sean Bean, Nathan Fillion, The Hunger Games stars Leven Rambin and Stanley Tucci, Derek Mears, The Host star Jake Abel, Brandon T. Jackson and Twilight star Daniel Cudmore. The film hits theaters on Aug. 16.
