Lodi car crash news became worse when it was revealed a sixth person has died. This Lodi car crash took place late Tuesday evening (Oct. 22) and occurred 15 miles north of Stockton, CA. According to a report from Wednesday (Oct. 23), 12 people were killed or injured during the accident. It was also reported that six cares were involved in it at the intersection of Ham Lane and Vine Street around 5:30 p.m. PT.
The disparaging news on this tragedy is that it could have been avoided, as witnesses stated that they saw a sport utility vehicle speeding at nearly 90 mph just before the crash. It was also reported that he was talking on his cell phone when the accident took place. The vehicle apparently blew through the intersection before hitting other vehicles, several of which contained children.
The six people reported to have died in this tragic Lodi car crash are Stephanie Miranda, 4, Jose Miranda, 5, and Irving Miranda, 11, Luis Miranda, 30, and Vivian Rodriguez, 31, who was pregnant. Six others were treated for serious injuries at local hospitals.
A memorial has already been set up at the intersection where this all took place and it has been visited by many classmates of the children. No arrests have been reported in the case as of yet, but two police search warrants were executed. It is believed that those search warrants were for the SUV and another vehicle.
This is still an evolving story and more information is likely to come out on Thursday (Oct. 24) when local police will make another statement.
