Fans of horror rock, as well as the timid and weak, should take notice; the Murderdolls are back with a bloody vengeance. After a nearly eight year hiatus, guitarist Joey Jordison and lead vocalist Wednesday 13 buried themselves in the studio and refused to emerge until they had crafted one of the most dangerous and frightening releases of the year.
The track list for Women and Children Last reads like the marquee at a horror movie festival, with titles like “Chapel of Blood”, “Drug Me to Hell”, “Death Valley Superstars”, “Summertime Suicide” and the first single “My Dark Place Alone”. The sound can only be described as horror-shock rock, sort of like Alice Cooper's sound mixed with Quentin Tarantino's imagination, with some Rob Zombie and GWAR thrown in for a little extra kick. It’s definitely not a CD for the faint of heart or those easily offended or frightened.
Women and Children Last will be released via Roadrunner Records on August 31st, in two versions; a 15 song CD or an 18 song special edition. The special edition includes three bonus tracks and a DVD featuring some great new live footage and exclusive artwork.
