Sherman Tank has spent years honing his craft and perfecting his character on the indie scene and for awhile was a mainstay in the mid-west but has recently started to branch out of his native Ohio and is making good impressions on fans and promoters alike in the Mid-Atlantic area.
Tank has been compared to Bam Bam Bigelow combining power moves with the finesse of a light-heavyweight wrestler and moves almost like a Luchadore while maintaining a heavyweight presence in the ring.
TNA Wrestling has opened voting for their GutCheck participants and Tank is leading his bracket at the moment, something many in the business feels is well deserved and in the words of one promoter "about damn time." Tank participated in a Richmond, VA GutCheck seminar and impressed a number of people at the time, one of whom told Tank that he needed to get out of Ohio. Tank took those words to heart and expanded his horizons working in a number of promotions in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and will be a featured performer at the Northern Championship Wrestling "Maple Valley Showdown" in March to crown a United States Champion.
Many feel Tank has the moves and the look to make it in the business even as detractors say his age (35) may be a set-back. "Batista started in his 30s and look at how far he went in this business, Tank can do that too if given the chance" said one promoter.
TNA GutCheck is having open voting right now for those who fans think should advance and Sherman Tank is leading his bracket at the moment. "I looked at some of his matches and he could be an asset to TNA no doubt" said a source close to TNA. "I think fans should vote daily and let's see what can come of this" he added.
Sherman Tank is in Bracket 7 of the tournament and is listed as James Sherman so if fans want to see someone different, worthy and who could possibly make a difference they are encouraged to vote.
