Loki is named after the Norse god of mischief and until recently he lived up to his name. Now the 14-year old rescued cat is in desperate need of help.

Veterinarian Dr. Angie Stamm is treating him for triaditis, a condition involving serious inflammation of the pancreas, gall bladder and liver. Dr. Stamm is using a combination of Western medicine, nutrition and holistic care to help Loki feel better.

Stamm is an experienced, caring veterinarian with years of experience in traditional clinics. But after the recent birth of her third child, Stamm decided to take her business to a new level.

Stamm now provides a full range of veterinary services in retail stores all over the greater Sacramento area. This gives pet owners the flexibility to get quality animal care right in their neighborhood – or even in their own home.

Since she does not have the high overhead of maintaining a clinic herself, Dr. Stamm’s prices are generally lower than at regular vet clinics.

Loki’s owners, Colette and Jim Armao, are very pleased with the care that Dr. Stamm has given their beloved pet. Colette was overheard telling Stamm “I wish I could find a doctor like you for me!”.

The couple is full of praise for the vet, citing her effectiveness, kindness, low cost, full range of treatments and flexibility with appointments. For example, Loki’s visit was taking place on a Sunday afternoon at Trends-n-Treats, a unique pet supply store and spa in Fair Oaks.

People seeking veterinary care on a Sunday are often unsuccessful and frustrated – but Dr. Angie Stamm is here to help.

And how about this – Dr Stamm gives out her personal cell phone number to pet owners. How many vets or other doctors do that? Stamm can be reached at (916) 342-1245 or through her website at meridianvetcare.com.

Dr. Stamm's passion is educating pet owners about keeping their pets healthy through the use of nutrition, supplements, herbs and acupuncture. Although she prefers to rely on nutrition, acupuncture and herbal medications for both well and ill patients, she also uses traditional Western medicines when they are needed.

In addition to providing direct care to pets, Stamm offers phone consultations for owners looking for advice about diets and supplements to address specific medical conditions.

Appointments are available in your home or at the following retail stores:

Trends-n-Treats in Fair Oaks

Bark Avenue in El Dorado Hills

Corner Pet Store in Elk Grove

Wagger Pet Spa and Market in Natomas

More locations are added all the time, so check her website frequently.

Stayed tuned for part 2 of this article, where Dr. Stamm talks more about pet nutrition and practical approaches to medicine for your special family members.

A vet that comes to your house? Pretty cool - can you believe that physicians used to do that? Now you have to drive to the office, wait 45 minutes and hope the doctor will spend 3 minutes with you. I'll take this vet instead anytime!

This is great! Some animals freak as soon as they see a carrier. Others hate the sounds and smells of a vet's office. Others are too sick or big to travel easily. It sounds like Dr. Stamm answers all these needs. And costs a bit less too? WOW!
