Travelocity announced the top Christmas Trees in the world for the 2011 holiday season! Our own neighbor, The Toledo Zoo located in Toledo, Ohio earned the honors of being awarded as one of the top ten Christmas Trees in the World!
The Lights Before Christmas, holiday spectacular event features a gorgeous 85-foot tall Norway spruce tree. The tree ranked among the top ten Christmas Trees around the World. In addition, the Toledo Zoo's Christmas Tree was named as one of the top Five Christmas Trees to see in the United States. What an honor! The 2011 Christmas Tree is adorned "with 35,000 Christmas lights."(Huffington Post) The Toledo Zoo's Christmas tree shared the spot light with four U.S. Trees that included: (WTOL)
* Biltmore Estate, NC
* Galleria in Dallas, TX
* Monument Circle in Indianapolis
* Coeur d'Alene, ID
Surprisingly, the beautiful over the top Christmas Trees at the Walt Disney World Resort were not even a competitor to the Zoo's radiant blue tree! The Norway beauty is decorated for the holiday season as a highlight of the annual ,The Lights Before Christmas celebration!
The Toledo Zoo's Lights Before Christmas event will run from now until the evening of December 31, 2011.
The Lights Before Christmas will be open from now until December 31,2011. The current schedule is Monday through Thursday 5-8p.m. and Friday through Sunday 5-9P.M. . The exhibit will be close for Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day! To read all about the event, visit The Lights Before Christmas!
