Those who live and work in the Philadelphia area know that the city and the surrounding areas are just blooming with the arts. It seems that people in other parts of the country are taking notice as well! Local jewelry artist Layne Freedline, owner of Layne Designs Studio in Oaks, PA , has recently been awarded the recipient of the 2011 Halstead Grant.
The Halstead Grant is a given by jewelry supply company Halstead Bead, Inc. annually to one emerging artist/business owner in the jewelry industry who shows exceptional promise in the field. It is highly competitive and involves an intensive application process where business plans and creative work are evaluated and critiqued. The competition is limited to new businesses that are in their first three years of operation. Jewelry design entrepreneurs are encouraged to visit the Halstead Bead, Inc. website to learn more about the company, the grant and information on how to apply.
